About Us

The Mercer County Italian American Festival Association (MCIAFA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving Italian American culture and heritage throughout Mercer County and the surrounding region.

Founded in 2000 by Cavaliere John Scarpati Sr. Today, the festival continues to honor his vision while growing into one of the region's most anticipated cultural events. The Mercer County Italian American Festival Association remains dedicated to honoring our traditions, strengthening community connections, and continuing the legacy and vision that started it all.

In addition to celebrating Italian American heritage, the organization is committed to giving back to the community. Proceeds from festival events support scholarship opportunities for local students, helping to invest in the next generation.

Cavaliere John Scarpati Sr. (Founder)

The Mercer County Italian American Festival was founded through the vision and leadership of Cavaliere John Scarpati Sr., whose passion for Italian American heritage and commitment to community helped bring this celebration to life.

Through his dedication, the festival became a place where families and friends could gather to celebrate the traditions, food, music, and culture that unite the Italian American community.

Although John passed away in 2025, his vision continues to guide the festival today. Each year the Mercer County Italian American Festival proudly carries forward the tradition he began - bringing people together to celebrate heritage, community, and family.
